Mark&Draw는 영국의 프리미엄 하이엔드 음향장비 제조업체인 B&W와 함께 프로젝트를 진행했습니다. 변화가 적고 제품 교체 주기가 긴 프리미엄 오디오 시장에서 신규 수익 창출에 어려움을 겪어 수익구조가 악화되고 있던 B&W는 수익을 창출할 수 있는 새로운 제품을 필요로 했습니다. Mark&Draw는 Bowers&Wilkins에게 B&O에서 내는 제품들과 같은 트렌디한 디자인의 새로운 제품들을 출시할 것을 제안했고, 그 중 하나로 휴대용 블루투스 스피커를 디자인하였습니다. 이 프로젝트는 생산을 위한 설계 및 설비 구축까지 완료되었으나, Bowers&Wilkins는 Covid-19로 인한 경영악화로 파산하여, 생산 직전에 프로젝트가 중단되었습니다.

From a strategic point of view, the high-end premium audio market has little change and has a long product replacement cycle. As a result, Bowers & Wilkins’ profit structure deteriorated due to difficulties in generating new profits. The so-called fashionable and well-selling products were dominated by other brands, We suggested that Bowers & Wilkins make fashionable products like B&O.

I proposed a portable Bluetooth speaker. This product was carried out just before mass production after the equipment design was completed. However, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bowers & Wilkins went bankrupt due to poor management and was suspended just before production. We charged the cost related to mock-up, CMF development, and Packaging design development, but most of the people in charge could not be contacted. Almost all Bowers & Wilkins staff have been replaced through the pandemic. We are still willing to charge Bowers & Wilkins for the design cost because we have not received compensation (Bowers & Wilkins went bankrupt early in the pandemic and is now normalizing). I haven’t received the cost of designing with them yet
